President’s Message

Members and friends of the Wiley Manuel Bar Association,

I am honored and excited to serve as President of this esteemed organization. As a Sacramento native, I am proud to call such a diverse and vibrant city home. I am equally proud of this community’s rich history of Black legal professionals who have worked tirelessly and courageously in the pursuit of justice. As we embark on this organization’s 47th year, I am committed to honoring the legacy of our predecessors by continuing the work of advancing the interests of the Black community in Sacramento.

This year, our leadership is determined to strengthen our bonds and increase the visibility of our attorneys and law students. We will strive through various networking, legal education, and community service events to build a more close-knit and supportive community. We will also seek opportunities to celebrate and promote the accomplishments of our past and present members.

Your unique skills and perspectives are invaluable to the mission of this organization, and we invite you to partner with us as we work towards these goals. I look forward to collaborating with you to build a stronger and more connected community. Thank you for your continued support of WMBA.

Sincerely,

Rick Owen
